Ginger was the about the most English (Great Britain) bloke there ever was, which can go a long way towards explaining his behavior. Much a fish out of water during these contemporary times, and particularly so when he was in the states. I met a similar guy to him on a bus in London once, total criticism of everything and everyone non-stop from when he got on to when he got off, and he kept looking around for someone to join him in the conversation. A real look into a side of English culture it was, and kind of endearing too.

I was at a charity comedy show several years back. Stewart Lee was the headline act. I say headline, yet he came on first, performed for less than ten minutes then trotted off. The people I was with and all the people surrounding me were disappointed that he came on first and left in less than ten minutes. They dodged a bullet imo. He was dreadful and he clearly didn't give a toss about the charity event.

A few manipulative tricks and the shallow are impressed.
